Senior
Interior Designer

For over 19 years, Coffey & Co House of Interiors has delivered extraordinary, creative, high-quality designs that evoke warmth and comfort through fine craftsmanship, well-curated furnishings, and art that complement the space architecture. Located in Lincoln, NE, the firm is known for its exceptional professionalism, amazing design, critical eye, and attention to detail in high-end residential and build sectors.

Our rapidly growing business seeks an interior designer who can lead projects from start to finish, executing and overseeing every step along the way to project completion. This designer has strong creative design skills, technical skills in CAD and 3D software, project management, strong positive leadership, and exceptional client, contractor, and vendor relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree required, prefer in
    Interior Design or Architecture

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in interior design

  • A great design sensibility and a strong portfolio

  • Proven ability to lead design projects from start to finish

  • Experience creating CAD design documents

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and can manage multiple priorities

  • Car and a valid driver’s license required for sourcing
    and site visits

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of design from concept through construction and installation, including design development, research, sourcing, specifications, and documentation

  • Create detailed permit and construction drawing sets, including plans, elevations, and sections

  • Create preliminary client budgets and schedules

  • Prepare and deliver design concepts for client presentations

  • Specify furnishings, lighting, accessories, etc.

  • Lead and collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal staff working together to resolve issues as they arise

  • Maintain or oversee project files and materials utilizing company product management software


Interior Design Assistant

Our rapidly growing business seeks design assistants who can assist projects from start to finish, executing and coordinating every step along the way to assist with project completion. The design assistant has strong creative design skills, technical skills in CAD and 3D software, project management and strong positive leadership skills with the ability to create and maintain exceptional client, contractor, and vendor relationships.

Primary Duties

  • Collaborate in the creation of preliminary plans and design concepts

  • Create floor plans, elevations, and construction documents

  • Create client mood boards and presentations

  • Research and select furnishings, fixtures, and accessories for projects

  • Order material samples from vendors and put together custom furniture orders

  • Prepare client budgets and specifications

  • Enter items into our project management software

  • Create proposals for clients

  • Assist with installations, coordinate deliveries, and handle post-installation returns

  • Communicate with and schedule subcontractors

  • Anticipate the needs of the designer and plan for solutions


Required Qualifications:

  • Must have previous education or experience in interior design industry

  • Prefer at least one-year design assistant experience in an interior design firm

  • Entry-level proficiency in AutoCAD

  • High attention to detail

  • Proven ability to self-manage; pro-active in researching things you don’t know

  • Flexible and willing to do the work needed to complete the project

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and can manage multiple priorities

  • Must have a passion for design and a design sensibility that resonates with our firm

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
